About Us ...making a difference
About Us

On 15 September, 1996, eight families in the parish of Tuckombil, concerned about farming issues and the environment, formally registered to become a New South Wales Landcare Group.

This small group of founding members set out to address these common objectives:
  • The establishment and/or maintenance of wildlife corridors.
  • Land management with attention to soil degradation.
  • Water management with emphasis on streambank management and water quality.
  • Vegetation management through regeneration and maintenance of rainforest remnants and weed control (including camphor laurel trees).
  • Promote effective local catchment management through education and participation.

Tuckombil Landcare (TLC) membership has grown over the years. Quarterly meetings are held to discuss local landcare issues, share ideas, conduct TLC business and enjoy a social gathering.

TLC members invite local wetlands experts from Southern Cross University to inspect Tuckombil waterways.
